Standing on the edge of the cliff, gazing into the beauty of the desert. The vast expanse of rocky sand, tones of red purple and yellow multiply into the distance. A soft breeze caresses my skin and last rays of sun illuminate the land with warm grace.
How can we claim that this land belongs to anyone?
Aren't we part of the land instead of its owner?
How can we shift our perspective and realize what unite us instead of the obvious things that divide us?
I step into this project with deep inspiration to find an answer to these questions, hoping to inspire the viewers through my journey.
LAND is a photographic project, a tribute to the beauty of my homeland known today as Israel.
Through the images I wish to express a message of unity and peace highlighting the poetry of the natural world that underlies such a long history of man-made conflicts.
The project is an invitation to widen our consciousness and realize that in spite of our cultural differences we all share the same nature. We don't own the Land but rather we are part of the Land as fruits are part of a tree.
The photos present the land in its pure state, the land of Genesis, The Land that was here much before Man came into this world and start fighting over it, the Land that is still here just under our feet but somehow we tend to forget.
Getting closer to nature reminds us of our true human nature. And in nature there are no separations, no borders. Everything is part of a whole and therefore there is a sense of harmony and beauty.
I am fully committed to this project. I see it as my mission and my quest to bring an effective message of unity and peace through my visual art. Powerful, beautiful images seen in this conceptual context can inspire people to recognize possibilities they had not previously been aware of and to join in this holistic vision.
Especially now, in these crucial moments of the ongoing conflict, I believe this message needs to be heard.
My goal is to publish an exclusive book presenting the entire work and the vision behind it.
Each photo will be presented with inspiring text that will lead the viewer to a new and creative state of consciousness.
In addition, the project will include this website to introduce people to the vision of shared land and provide opportunities for viewers to engage and contribute. This website will stay alive, subject to continual development, as my intention is to expand the concept and take more photos in different locations later.
Completing the project will allow me to exhibit the photos, highlighting the poetry of the natural world that underlies such a long history of man-made conflicts. My wish is to present the work in galleries both in Israel and Palestine.
Finally, and most importantly, I will also deliver lectures to introduce the concept and images in a teaching format that will allow audience interaction. These per-formative visual lectures will be offered in different institutions and venues in Israel, Palestine and also around the world.
